Privacy Policy for no-upload Chrome Extension
Effective Date: July 11, 2025
Thank you for using no-upload, a lightweight Chrome extension designed to block file uploads on all websites by default and allow uploads only on trusted, whitelisted sites.
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and protect your privacy when you use no-upload.
1. Information We Collect
- no-upload does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data or files from your device.
- All settings, including your whitelist and upload attempt logs, are stored locally in your browser’s storage.
- Upload attempt history logs include only metadata about upload attempts (e.g., date, time, and website URL) and are kept locally.
2. How We Use Your Information
- We use your locally stored settings and logs only to provide the core functionality of blocking or allowing uploads based on your whitelist.
- No information leaves your device or is shared with any external service.
3. Permissions and Access
- The extension requires permissions to:
- Access website URLs to enforce blocking/allowing uploads.
- Use local storage to save your settings and logs.
- Show popup and options UI for configuration.
- These permissions are used exclusively for extension functionality and never for data collection, tracking, or advertising.
4. Data Security
- All configuration data and upload logs are stored securely and locally.
- The settings panel is protected by a password to prevent unauthorized access or changes.
- We recommend users maintain strong device and browser security to protect extension data.
5. Third-Party Services
no-upload does not use or integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
No data is sent to external servers.
6. User Control
- You can uninstall or disable no-upload at any time; doing so removes all local data.
- You control your whitelist and password-protected settings.
- Upload attempt logs can be reviewed or cleared by you via the options page.
7. Children’s Privacy
no-upload is not intended for use by children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
